smooth and safe towage operations to HMM ALGECIRAS on its maiden voyage in Europe

On 3rd June 2020, the world's largest new containership 'HMM Algeciras" arrived in the Port of Rotterdam. The tugs 'Rotterdam' and 'VB Cheetah' of Boluda Towage Europe welcomed ‘HMM Algeciras’, loaded with 19,621 TEUs, on her maiden voyage and assisted her to the Rotterdam World Gateway Terminal.

HMM Algeciras continued her maiden voyage and after its stop at Hamburg, she arrived on 11 June in the port of Antwerp, where the tugs Union Hawk, Union Pearl and Union Eagle assisted her to the Noordzee Terminal of PSA Antwerp.

On 13 June, HMM Algeciras departed Antwerp, to set sail to the Port of London. On Sunday 14 June, HMM Algeciras arrived in the port of London for the first time. The tugs and crew of Boluda Towage Europe welcomed HMM Algeciras with a water display. The vessel has been moored safely at the London Gateway Terminal of DP World thanks to a smooth towage operation of the crew of RT Evolution, SD Dolphin and SD Seal.

We congratulate HMM on "HMM Algeciras' their first new vessel of a series of twelve 24,000 TEU-class containerships and we are delighted we could be a part of the maiden voyage.

HMM plans to enhance its environmental capabilities by operating newly-launched twenty containerships. The vessels are basically equipped with a scrubber system in preparation for IMO 2020 environmental regulation. Optimized hull design and highly-efficient engine are also expected to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
