In the role of Manager Operations, you are a strategic and tactical advisor to the CEO and Area General Managers of Boluda Towage Europe for operational matters within Northwest Europe.
As Manager Operations, you are the driving force behind the operational performance within Northwest Europe. You are the pragmatist capable of translating business goals into an organization that achieves its performance of high-quality towage services in the major and busiest ports of NW Europe.
With your operationally focused mindset and a deep understanding of operational processes, you have the ability to set a clear planning and lead the regional teams through running tight processes. In the rapidly changing maritime environment, you maintain a positive culture and can effectively shape and operationalize processes, in order to make work more efficient for the entire team.
In this role, you are the vital connection between the four regions (UK, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany) and the regional HQ in Rotterdam. These regions are your internal customers. You have the ability to properly understand their needs, and the challenges they are daily facing in their regions, and align these with the business goals and budget on a European level.
Within our matrix organization, you will give functional leadership to the Operations Managers of the four regions. To be successful in this job, you have a strong track record of leading cross-functional teams in a logistics or maritime environment. You are a people-focused leader who thinks flexibly, and with your operational insight and the ability to inspire and motivate people, you are ready to keep our operations and performance smooth and efficient.
The Manager Operations reports hierarchical to the CEO of Boluda Towage Europe. You will be working from our regional HQ Office in Rotterdam.
Your key tasks:
- Operational analysis and proposed solutions based on the agreed drydock planning.
- Support, advise, and prepare operational decisions for the CEO of Boluda Towage Europe.
- Advise/Analyse on fleet optimization and utilization.
- Maintain operational availability of tugs at the desired level while respecting (un)scheduled drydocks. By changing vessels' locations or shifting within the drydock schedule by mutual agreement.
- Liaise with the chartering department in Spain, availability of bare boats, and time charters.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally
- Ensure the development of the operational organization and people through work design, training, and coaching to achieve the operational goals
- Monitor the quantity and quality of equipment in cooperation with fleet management
- Initiate evaluation of the performed services together with relevant managers to define lessons learned, recommendations, and action points to improve future work methods.
What type of applicant are we looking for?
- Higher Professional Education/Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a relevant position
- Excellent command of the common language in the area, both oral and written
- Excellent command of the English language, both oral and written
- Knowledge of MS Office systems
- Familiar with a logistic and/or operational environment
